About the artist…
Mary Quintal's artistic journey began in Port Huron, Michigan, near the soothing waves of Lake Huron. Growing up in Michigan, her passion for art developed naturally, becoming an intrinsic part of her identity.
She studied at the University of Michigan School of Art and continued her postgraduate work at Wayne State University. Her education, combined with insights from notable American artists, helped shape her distinctive style. Mainly working with watercolors and mixed media collages, Quintal believes art is a joyful, continuous journey of learning.
Quintal's creative approach is fluid and unconfined, drawing influences from artists like Charles Reid, Gerrald Brommer, and Stephen Quiller, whose color theories significantly impacted her work. Her pieces reflect an expression of joy and discovery, evident in her dynamic techniques and vibrant palettes.
Recipient of notable awards like Best of Show at the Grosse Pointe Art Festival and First Place for Mixed Media at the Eastern Michigan International Exhibit, Quintal's work stands out in the art community. She is actively involved with the Blue Water Art Association and showcases her art in galleries across Michigan, including the New Century Art Gallery in Marine City. Her work also features in corporate and private collections across the USA and Canada.
Critics and collectors alike praise her vivid expressiveness and technical skill. Quintal aspires to create art that not only captivates but also engages with societal values. Her ever-evolving body of work speaks of endless curiosity and the uncontainable joy of creation.

This workshop is tailored for all skill levels, from novices to advanced students. Whether you are just beginning your artistic journey or seeking to refine your techniques, this workshop offers something for everyone.
Materials and instruction are fully provided, so participants don’t need to worry about bringing anything. Here’s what you can expect to receive during the workshop:
1. Clay

3. Firing services
4. Tools
5. Instruction
Participants will be guided through basic hand building techniques, which will help them to create their own unique pieces of art. By the end of the session, you will have not only gained new skills but also created a piece of artwork to take pride in.

With almost 30 years of experience and 19 years as a full-time professional, Juliet Faber is a master of functional and decorative stoneware and porcelain.
Her passion for art education shines through 28 years of teaching classes and workshops, including 13 years as a children's clay instructor and studio co-manager. Juliet's positive energy leaves a lasting impression on all who learn from her.

Paint a tranquil coastal landscape with a serene beach, golden sand, and vibrant, dynamic ocean waves using oil paint on a 12 x 16" canvas.
In this course we will focus on learning how to paint water to capture movement and translucency. Students will use palette knives and brushes while learning basic skills for handling and using both. This course is for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, you'll gain valuable skills. All supplies are included.

Join artist Kate Ford for a workshop on learning the art of batik while creating a 6 x 6" bird design. Participants can choose between a bluebird or a warbler. This workshop suits beginners and requires no prior experience.
During the workshop, participants will explore the world of batik, a traditional fabric dyeing method that uses wax-resist techniques. The session will cover several key components to provide a comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience:
1. Brief History of Batik: Introduction to the cultural heritage of batik, including its origins and significance.
2. Dyeing Techniques and Dyes: Information on different dyes used in batik and application methods.
3. Batik Techniques with Tjanting Tools and Brushes: Instruction on using tjanting tools and brushes to apply wax onto fabric, creating intricate patterns and designs.
